Lovers of authentic French pastries, we’ve got some exciting news for you! C’est Du Gâteau, translating to it's a piece of cake is opening its doors on Grey Street on October 12, and trust us when we say this will be THE spot to stock up on delicious French pastries and cakes in Brisbane!
The new store is the brainchild of Seb and Fred, two extremely talented French pastry chefs with over 15 years of experience that spans working with some well-known chefs and high-end patisseries and hotels across France and Europe.
Guests will love the elegant black and white façade featuring a glass window that lets you take a peek at where the magic happens aka where they make as the French say, 'deliceux' croissants.
You know you are getting the crème de la crème of delicious French fare because not only do they create their delicious pastries and cakes with the highest quality ingredients - some of which are imported straight from France!
Expect to see the classic French bakery staples such as croissants, almond croissants filled with almond cream and topped with roasted almond flakes, and the classic pain au chocolat – think perfectly laminated croissant dough filled with a dark chocolate bar. You’ll also find the most mouth-watering savoury options too - we’re talking a 12-hour slow-cooked BBQ pulled pork and caramelised onion croissant and our soon-to-be new fave, the Reuben croissant that features layers of pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dijon and seeded mustard, and cornichon enclosed in croissant dough – we’re not drooling, you are!
