So, you’ve got your rock moves ready for the Pink Concert at Suncorp Stadium, and now you need a place to dine to sustain said rock moves before the show. We’ve made it easy by rounding up the best spots to dine at South Bank.
Plus, getting from dinner to the concert couldn’t be easier! You’ll only be a short walk from the South Bank CityCat terminal, busway, and train station.
Ahmet’s
The pides from Ahmet’s have quite the reputation in these parts for being downright delicious! Once you’ve tried them, you’ll understand the hype. If you’ve never had a pide before, picture a soft pillowy bread base with your choice of eight different toppings! Our fave is the roasted pumpkin pide with a delish combo of fire-roasted onion, feta, sea salt, and garlic - it’s the perfect quick yet gourmet concert meal!
Popolo
If you’re after a luxe vibe, you can’t go past Popolo with its breathtaking river views and mouth-watering menu that channels Southern Italian coastal vibes. For the ultimate pre-concert meal, you can’t go past their addictive pizzas. Our pick of the bunch is the Tartufata that features for di latte, truffle mushrooms and asiago cheese, and a perfectly crispy pizza base (it is seriously chef’s kiss!). Pair this with a spritz or two for the ultimate pre-concert experience. Our go-to is the Luna Rosa spritz, which features Capricorn Distilling Co. pineapple and spiced rum, Aperol, pineapple, lime juice, blackberries, and sugar syrup.
Motto Motto
If you fancy a quick yet delicious bite to eat, Motto Motto is the spot for you. Indulge in their iconic range of ramen, donburi (rice-bowl dish), udon, curry, gyoza, and our personal fave - the wonder bao with spicy chicken karaage. Pair this with a peach fresh iced tea to make sure your hydration is up before singing and dancing your heart out at the concert.
Mucho Mexicano
We’ve got three words for you: tacos, margaritas, and guac! Head to Mucho Mexicano at South Bank with your concert crew to enjoy the delicious tastes of their trio of tacos for $25. We recommend the shredded beef cheek, chargrilled chicken, and the pumpkin and haloumi tacos for a sumptuous meal before heading to Suncorp! We love pairing this with one of their mini margs; our fave is the coconut, but you can also try the passionfruit or classic by treating yourself to a flight of three to really make it a fiesta.
Psst! Show your fave some love by voting for them in eatSouthBank’s 2024 foodie awards here.
