Bid farewell to that sad packed lunch (tinned tuna and rice is not a vibe), this season we’re snuggling up to warming bowls of nourishing soup...
With just over a month left of winter (not that we’re counting or anything...), we’ve rounded up the six, steaming bowls of soup that you need to snuggle up to before the season is through.
1.Beef Pho from Banh Mee Time
Fellow pho lovers, take our word when we say this beef pho from Banh Mee Time is SERIOUSLY good! A generous serve of warming aromatic broth with flat rice noodles, thinly sliced beef, bean sprouts, fresh herbs and chilli, it truly hits the spot.
2. Tamarind Fish Soup from Viet De Lites
When it comes to authentic Vietnamese eats, it doesn’t get much better than Viet De Lites. Serving up a special tamarind soup with delicate pieces of fish, bean sprouts, taro stalk, tomatoes, garlic oil and chilli, this one packs a bit of heat making it perfect on a cold winter’s day.
3. Chicken & Prawn Laksa from Southbeach
Turn up the spice with this chicken and prawn laksa from Southbeach! A spicy Malaysian soup with chicken, prawns, vermicelli noodles, Asian mushrooms and herbs, this beauty is both gluten free and dairy free.
4. Gumbo from Bourbon Street
One of our favourite winter comfort foods would have to be the gumbo from Bourbon Street. While not ‘technically’ a soup, this delicious dish – made with onion, capsicum, celery, bacon, chorizo and chicken thigh – will warm you from the inside out.
5. Winter Soup from Denim Co.
We will forever look forward to Denim Co.'s warming winter soups! Returning to the menu yearly with the change of the season, expect beautiful bowls of healthy nourishing soup, topped with crispy croutons (of course). Rotating flavours daily, you'll never get bored!
6. Spinach & Noosa Spanner Crab Soup from Tai Tai
We firmly believe that all delicious Chinese banquets should begin with a piping hot bowl of Tai Tai’s spinach and Noosa spanner crab soup. Warming, fragrant and unlike anything we’ve ever tasted, this is the perfect winter entrée!
