Calling all cheese lovers!
The 4th of June is National Cheese Day (arguably one of our favourite days of the year) and there’s only one way to celebrate... with copious amounts of glorious, gooey cheese.
While we know you don’t need an excuse to eat cheese (that’s a God given right), we thought we’d compile our favourite, cheese loaded dishes to kick start your celebrations. Beware, these dishes are seriously addictive...
Brooklyn Depot – trust us when we say that the Mac N Cheese from Brooklyn Depot will change your life! Made with a luscious, three cheese sauce and topped with hickory smoked bacon bits, this dish is a cheat-day dream...
Tippler’s Tap – the Rueben sandwich from Tippler’s Tap is cheesy, tangy and straight up delicious. Loaded with succulent slices of slow cooked corned beef and melted swiss cheese, we recommend you try this one STAT.
Barbossa Bar – if you share our love for delicious Mac N Cheese, you need to try Barbossa’s crispy Mac N Cheese balls immediately. Lightly battered, fried, and served with aioli, they are the perfect cheesy starter.
Bourbon Street – sometimes, you just can’t go past a classic, old-school cheeseburger from Bourbon Street. Served on a lightly toasted bun with fresh lettuce, a juicy patty and their sharp American cheese, its simple but delicious.
OTTO Ristorante – when it comes to after-dinner cheese, it doesn’t get much better than the beautiful selection at OTTO. Offering a mix of locally sourced and imported cheeses, all come served with quince paste, pane carasau and fruit bread (I know, we’re already drooling) ...
The Jetty – soft cheese fanatics, prepare! The Jetty has the most delicious baked camembert on the menu, served with confit garlic and rosemary, red onions, chutney and sourdough toast. You need to taste it ASAP!
The Charming Squire – cheesy garlic bread... our two favourite things in one delicious, crispy masterpiece! Lovingly prepared with confit garlic and an ale infused cheese sauce, their garlic bread is the perfect accompaniment to any ice-cold beer.
VICI – who could say no to ball of fresh burrata, served with roasted garlic and parsley oil and crisp bread? The only way to begin a delicious Italian meal (in our eyes at least), we recommend you get booking this weekend...
Coco Bliss Collective – love cheese but can’t stomach dairy? Give the vegan cheese toastie by Coco Bliss a try! It’s everything you want in a decadent, cheese toastie... and more!
Ahmet’s – if you’ve tried the spinach and cheese borek pastry from Ahmet’s, you’ll understand exactly what we’re talking about! A flaky pastry made with baby spinach and three cheese mix, it’s seriously divine.
Southbeach – just when we thought we’d tried it all, we tasted the haloumi fries from Southbeach... MIND BLOWN! Lightly dusted in paprika and served with harissa mayo, these fries are seriously good.
South Bank Beer Garden – some days, you just need a good old chicken parmigiana. And let us just say, the parmi from South Bank Beer Garden is cheesy, crispy and really hits the spot.
