From Wednesday right through to the big game on Saturday, South Bank is the place to be if you want to soak up all the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final vibes. Whether you’re a die-hard Brisbane Lions fan or just here for the buzzing atmosphere, we’ve got you covered with live screenings, fun activities, and plenty of family-friendly entertainment.
On Saturday, 28 September, the big game will be shown live on the huge screens at Streets Beach and the Cultural Forecourt. The excitement starts at 1pm, with the first bounce at 2:30pm. You can even cool off in the lagoon at Streets Beach while watching the action on the big screen—talk about the perfect spot to enjoy the game!
Bring the whole crew along for some awesome family-friendly activities happening across the Cultural Forecourt from 9:30am – 4:00pm on Wednesday, 8:30am – 4:00pm on Thursday and Friday, and 8:30am – 1:00pm on Saturday. You’ll find AFL clinics, inflatable AFL handball targets, face painting, and photo opportunities with the Brisbane Lions mascots. Plus, there’s a Brisbane Lions merchandise stall, and you can register for NAB AFL Auskick, NAB AFL Superkick, and AFL Nines. It's the perfect way to get the little ones involved in the AFL action!

Fun fact: The last time Brisbane and Sydney faced off in a grand final was in 1899! Back then, Brisbane was actually Fitzroy, and Sydney was South Melbourne. Fitzroy (now Brisbane Lions after merging in 1996) won by just one point in what was then the Victorian Football League grand final. Sydney officially became the Swans in 1982. Cool bit of AFL history, right?
