South Brisbane’s favourite modern Mexican playground, Poca Madre, is back with another round of its sell-out tequila masterclasses—and this one’s got Don Julio written all over it.
On Friday, 19 September 2025, the riverside venue will transform into a tequila lover’s dream, hosting an interactive night of tastings, storytelling, and a whole lot of flavour. Guiding the way is Poca Madre’s very own tequila guru Sebastian Ruiz, who’ll take guests on a delicious journey through the Don Julio portfolio—think crisp Blanco, smooth Reposado, bold Añejo, and the oh-so-pretty Rosado.
But this isn’t just about sipping tequila. You’ll kick things off with a luxe Don Julio 1942 Margarita, roll up your sleeves for a make-your-own guac session, and tuck into Poca Madre’s famous Baja Fish Taco. Add in a few cheeky surprises, giveaways, and a take-home gift bag, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate fiesta.
It’s all part of Don Julio’s legacy—founded back in 1942 by Don Julio González, who flipped the script on tequila by treating it with the care usually reserved for whisky or cognac. The result? A tequila that’s smooth, elegant, and now a staple on the best cocktail menus across the globe.
Since opening its doors in July 2024, Poca Madre has been on a mission to bring the heart and soul of agave culture to Brisbane. Its masterclass series has quickly become a must-do for locals and visitors, mixing premium pours with Poca Madre’s signature flair for fun, food, and flavour.
Tickets are $85pp and spots are limited—so grab your crew, book your seats, and get ready for a night where tacos, tequila, and good times collide.
