Our Summer Seafood Guide

Tell us, what could be better than a warm, summer’s afternoon spent down by the river? Why, an afternoon spent feasting on the freshest and finest local seafood of course!

If you share our love for fresh oysters, prawns or beautifully cooked fish, you’ll want to make a booking at these wonderful restaurants. Using only the best, locally sourced produce, and harnessing the vibrance of Summer, these locations are non-negotiable when it comes to Our Summer Seafood Guide.

The Jetty Southbank

How does half a dozen, freshly shucked oysters with a punchy mignonette and lemon to start sound? At The Jetty Southbank, seafood is a speciality. Building a menu that champions high quality, seasonal ingredients and authentic Australian flavours, they understand the power of simplicity. Sourcing only the freshest, local seafood, and cooking it with the utmost care, there’s a reason we’ve placed these guys first on our list. Offering alfresco dining with one of the best views in Brisbane, nothing beats a summers evening at The Jetty with the glistening Brisbane River and city lights as a backdrop.

River Quay Fish

If you’re craving a fresh, seafood feast, you can’t go past the amazing, shared platters by River Quay Fish. Piled high with all your favourites, including chilled Queensland king prawns, crab, oysters, smoked salmon and more, their premium platter is the answer to all your seafood dreams. For a more low-key, relaxed date idea (that still involves some amazing, fresh seafood of course) you must try one of their picnic packages for Social Sunday out on the green. Creating beautiful picnic hampers to be enjoyed by the river with live music and a nice glass of wine, River Quay Fish definitely know how to please!

Ma Pa Me

If you love beautifully prepared seafood and adore the foreign flavours of Asian cuisine, you simply must visit Ma Pa Me. Begin by igniting your senses with their delicious Hiramasa kingfish sashimi, served with pomelo, red curry oil, red nahm jim, garlic shoot and nori cracker, before stepping things up with their hearty, yellow barramundi curry. Pairing perfectly with steamed jasmine rice and stir fried bok choy, you can’t go wrong.

OTTO

When it comes to a romantic date night, it doesn’t get much better than a delicious meal overlooking the river at OTTO. Serving up a beautifully curated, seasonal menu that harnesses the delicate flavours of high quality, local produce, OTTO’s seafood offering is phenomenal. Fresh, vibrant and drawing on Modern Italian flavours, you’ll fall in love with their Hervey Bay scallops, freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters, and of course their Champagne lobster spaghettini.  Offering an intimate dining experience in a breath-taking setting, we highly recommend booking a date at this wonderful restaurant.

Olé

If you love seafood, prepared with a fun and vibrant Spanish flare, this restaurant is for you! Spicing up their menu with a couple of modern, seafood share plates, Olé know how to put on a spread that the whole family will enjoy.  From the Pacific oysters with 40-year-old, Gran Reserva Sherry vinegar and salmon roe, to the pan-fried octopus with potato, paprika dressing, and celeriac purée, you’ll be captivated by their amazing play on traditional flavours.
