Which is why we had to share our go-to guide for a bit of long weekend grazing in South Bank. That’s right! We’re talking our favourite spots for delicious cocktails, moreish shared plates, delectable desserts, and super dreamy views.
Poppies – If you’re yet to enjoy a beautiful meal at Poppies, we suggest you change that STAT! As the newest kids on the block, these guys are serving up a seriously good menu. Like their Fraser Isle omelette with ginger broth, crispy bits, and fragrant herbs... need we say more?
The Jetty – Sundays are best spent down by the river with live music, impeccable views, and a tasty picnic hamper from The Jetty. Selling hampers for two or four people (with all your favourite meats, cheeses, dips, breads, and brews of course), you can book yours here!
Denim Co – If you’re a lover of brunch, Denim Co is a must try. Offering an unreal breakfast menu, alongside some even sweeter treats, you can trust us when we say that their classic sticky date pudding is *chefs kiss* to die for.
VICI – When it comes to authentic, wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta, and delicious cocktails, VICI does not disappoint. Putting on a killer bottomless brunch package every Sunday, featuring fresh antipasto and a three-hour gin cocktail package, there’s no better way to spend a long weekend.
Southbeach – Make the most of your break, with a couple of shared plates and cocktails at Southbeach. Turning up the fun with live music and amazing views all weekend long, Southbeach is the perfect spot to sit, sip and socialise (psst... these guys will be open from 11am on Monday).
South Bank Beer Garden – Settle into the long weekend with a couple of beers and some drool-worthy smoked meats at South Bank Beer Garden. If you haven’t yet tried their Smokehouse Sunday’s menu, you are seriously missing out.
Tippler’s Tap – In the mood for a couple of top-notch brews? An afternoon at Tippler’s Tap is definitely in order! Serving up an insane selection of local craft beers and ciders, alongside some delicious, relaxed eats (hello loaded chilli beef fries), Tippler’s is always a vibe.
Fritzenberger – Long weekends call for ice-cold beers and burgers at Fritzenberger. A consistent crowd pleaser, who could say no to their Southern, buttermilk fried chicken burger with a side of loaded frites?
Ice Dream – It wouldn’t be a weekend of grazing, without a sweet stop at Ice Dream! Mixing up some seriously addictive flavours (shout out to their Lotus Biscoff creation), you can trust us when we say these ice creams are next level.
