Get excited, Brisbane. Naga Thai is officially back, and it’s landed in one of the city’s dreamiest dining spots. South Bank’s River Quay.
After closing their much-loved Eagle Street Pier digs in 2022 (RIP), Naga Thai is making its triumphant return with a brand-new home on the water. Reopening Friday 1 August, Naga is bringing everything you loved and then some. Bold Thai flavours. High-energy hospitality. Cocktails that demand to be posted. The kind of buzz that made it a go-to from day one.
Led by hospitality power couple Andrew and Jaimee Baturo, alongside Head Chef Suwisa Phoonsang (ex Libertine and Tillerman), Naga’s menu is a knockout mix of modern Thai eats and street food faves. Think Moreton Bay Bug, Pad Thai, Royal Flower Dim Sims, DIY Green Papaya Salad and the droolworthy 180 Day Black Angus Pad See Ew. It’s spice, crunch, zing and sizzle. All made with premium local produce and a whole lot of heart.
On the drinks front, the OG hits are back. Looking at you, Plum Negroni, Violet Femme and #dontbekoi. There are also plenty of new sips to try while you soak up the river views. Think refreshing iced teas, low and no alc options, crisp lagers and wines that can handle the heat.
The fit out is retro Thai meets riverfront glam. Glowing lanterns. Bold prints. Curved corners that echo the mythical Naga serpent. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to settle in and stay awhile.
The space channels retro Thai charm with a splash of riverfront glam. Bold prints. Glowing lanterns. Curved lines that nod to the mythical Naga serpent. It’s vibrant, cheeky and completely transportive, exactly what you want in your next go to spot.
