Rejoice, picnic lovers! The lush Riverside Green will have you seeing our city in a new light, not only with its lush lawns and leafy highlights, but with the barbeque facilities, function spaces, vibrant lighting, breath-taking water feature and dazzling city views.
While you’re there, we suggest taking a stroll to appreciate the spectacular water installation, Water is Life, honouring the connection to place, people, and culture. Sprawling across the centre of the lawns, this sculpture is the work of artist Elisa Jane Carmichael of Quandamooka Country. The sculptured boulders display patterns of Aboriginal net and weave, and connect to a stream flowing towards the Brisbane River. It also makes the perfect backdrop for a zenned-out yoga session with a smoothie in hand, if you ask us.
