Get ready to immerse yourself in culture at the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade. This annual spectacle transforms South Bank’s beloved Little Stanley Street and beyond into a dazzling nighttime celebration of light, culture and community. Be there on Friday 1 August as thousands of lanterns light up the sky for an unforgettable experience.
Kicking off at 5.30pm, LUMINOUS sets the stage for Multicultural Queensland Month with live music, dancing, vibrant cultural performances and the iconic lantern parade, which makes its way from Little Stanley Street to the Clem Jones Promenade, finishing at South Bank Piazza in a glowing celebration of unity and connection.
Presented by Multicultural Australia, this powerful event honours the contributions of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers, while celebrating the rich cultural diversity that makes Queensland shine. Whether you're joining the walk or watching from the sidelines, it's a night that brings the community together like no other.
And of course, no night out is complete without great food. Book an early dinner at one of South Bank’s top dining spots to score prime views of the action. Grab mezze at Baba Ganouj, dive into pizza and pasta at Vici or sip cocktails over Caribbean bites at Barbossa.
LUMINOUS is free, family-friendly and open to everyone. Bring your crew and be part of one of Brisbane’s most heartwarming traditions.
