Calling all wine connoisseurs! The Charming Squire is hosting a Penfolds wine dinner with a focus on paired dishes featuring truffles on the 7th of March.
What makes this event one a wine connoisseur doesn’t want to miss? Well, the whole menu has been expertly crafted to match! Trust us when we say this event is the ultimate indulgent evening out.
While you sip and savour the delicious food and wine on offer, you’ll be able to mingle with the host for the evening, Penfolds brand ambassador Sam O’Connell.
Now onto the glorious food and wine that’s on the menu! Guests will start their indulgent dining journey with truffled stracciatella, plum, local honey, and pistachio paired with a NV Thienot x Penfolds rosé champagne! Then onto the house truffled Nicola potato gnocchi with caviar and parmesan bubbles complemented with the 2019 Penfolds cellar reserve chardonnay.
The third course moves to heartier offerings with Brisbane Valley quail, black garlic, and truffle blackberry jus – paired with the exceptional 2022 cellar reserve GSM. The fourth course keeps the hearty food theme going with delicious slow-roasted Wagyu beef with mushrooms, truffle, beef bacon, and shallots paired with not one, but two fabulous shiraz options: the 2018 St Henri Shiraz and the 2018 Bin 150 Marananga shiraz.
The dinner ends on a sweet note with the Callebaut chocolate and black truffle souffle tart with caramelised milk and white truffle ice cream. Naturally, paired with a glass of luscious fruit tasting NV Penfolds grandfather tawny port to wash it all down.
