Fitness... (with a side of food)

We all know the feeling of starting the New Year a little flat and flabby. And if you didn’t this year? Well let’s just say that we’re a tad jealous!

For those that are struggling to adjust back into routine and who still feel a bit out-of-sorts (please, no reminders that we are already in February), the wonderful team from Medibank are here to help. Kicking off their 2022 Feel Good Program this week in the Parklands, it’s time to find that fresh motivation you’ve been missing. From morning yoga and cardio fusion classes to mindful art and evening ballroom dancing, they truly cater to all.

  1. Rise and Shine

Roll out of bed, shimmy into that active-wear and grab your yoga mat – it’s time to wake up with a little bit of morning Pilates. Focusing on movement, flexibility, breath, strength and stretching, you’ll find yourself submerged in nature while taking this class down at the Rainforest Green. Once you’ve woken up your body and your mind, it’s time to treat yourself to a well-deserved caffeine hit. If you like your coffee hot and strong (just like your new fit bod), you’ll want to carve out some time for a quick breaky stop at Denim & Co after class. Serving up delicious coffee and simple, nourishing eats, you’ll head home feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day!

  1. Afternoon Energy

Feeling sluggish after a day spent sitting at your desk? Release some needed endorphins with one of the Medibank ‘Energy’ classes. Spicing up your regular cardio routine with a high intensity, bodyweight workout, this class will leave you sweaty, smiling and with a bit of an appetite. To keep up that good progress, head to Mucho Mexicano for a protein and veg packed burrito bowl. A super satisfying meal to fill the tank after a hard workout, their burrito bowls are next level.

  1. Evening Wind Down

Let your hair down and have a bit of fun with one of Medibank’s Salsa and Samba classes. Bring your partner (or a friend) along to the South Bank Piazza, harness whatever rhythm you can muster, and dance away the day’s stresses. Once the class is finished, make your way over to Southbeach for a casual drink and dinner (you’ve earnt it!). With views out to the river and city, it’s the perfect place to wind down of an evening!
